Peter Doggett is one of the UK’s leading rock writers. His articles, reviews and interviews appear frequently in Mojo, Q, GQ and Record Collector, among other publications. His next book Speed of Life: David Bowie’s Records and The Seventies will be published by Bodley Head in 2012.
Between 1982 and 1999 he was the editor of Record Collector magazine. He is the author of Are You Ready For The Country (2000, Penguin Books UK/Penguin Books US), the definitive and widely-heralded history of country rock.
There’s A Riot Going On: The Untold Story of Rock and The Revolution, was published by Canongate in October 2007 to considerable critical acclaim. It was published in the USA by Canongate US in September 2008.
His latest book, You Never Give Me Your Money, about the after-life of the Beatles, was published in Autumn 2009 by Bodley Head in the UK, and will be published in the US by HarperStudio in 2010.
