Reza Mahammad
Reza Mahammad is the charming, flamboyant TV chef and owner of the renowned Star of India restaurant in Kensington, London. He is passionate about reflecting the diverse cuisine of the Indian sub-continent and has legions of fans across the UK and worldwide. He loves to create recipes with a fresh, modern twist and is equally at home preparing classic Indian dishes.
Reza makes regular appearances on ITV's This Morning as an expert chef. In summer 2011 The Food Network commissioned a ten episode series, to be presented by Reza. This will be aired in the UK, with the USA and South Africa to follow, and will feature Reza touring the sumptuous palaces of Rajasthan and cooking up suitably wonderful feasts.
Reza was co-presenter with Sanjeev Bhaskar on Delhi Belly for UKTV in 2001. Reza also starred in Channel Four's A Place in France as well as the next two series. This was followed by Coconut Coast and United States of Reza on UKTV. In February 2009 Reza appeared on BBC1's Let's Dance for Comic Relief. In October 2011 the Food Network airs Reza's latest series: Reza, Spice Prince of India.
Reza is also in huge demand for live cookery demonstrations and hands on workshops. He has travelled to South Africa to the Good Food and Wine show for the last four years, starring alongside Ainsley Harriot and Gordon Ramsay. His cookbook, Rice, Spice and All Things Nice was published by Simon & Schuster UK in 2007 and his second book Reza's Indian Spice will be published by Quadrille in June 2012.
